Rick Berg
Founder
Rick Berg has been a leader in the real estate industry for over three decades. Starting in 1981, he co-founded Midwest Management Co., a multi-family management company. In 1987, he launched Goldmark Commercial Corporation, a brokerage firm specializing in commercial real estate. Under his leadership, Rick oversaw hundreds of millions in real estate transactions, while also managing a top-performing team.

Throughout his career, Rick has developed, built, and managed over $1 billion in real estate, working with local businesses, developers, and national tenants. His ventures focus on real estate acquisition and development, partnering with experts across the Midwest.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Rick served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1984 to 2010 and represented North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013.

Jonathan Casper
Founder
Jonathan Casper focuses on the development, acquisition, and management of multi-family, industrial, retail, and office real estate. Over the past decade, he has been involved in the development of over 7,000 multi-family units, as well as significant industrial, office, and retail spaces.

Specializing in financial analysis and feasibility, Jonathan brings a comprehensive understanding of real estate management to determine the financial viability of assets. As an attorney licensed in two states, he also oversees the legal aspects of real estate transactions and partnerships.

Jonathan graduated with honors from Saint John’s University and earned his law degree from Creighton University. He also served in the North Dakota State Senate from 2015 to 2018, representing the 27th District.
Scott Houle
Chief Investment Officer
Scott Houle serves as Chief Investment Officer at Great States Development, bringing extensive expertise in commercial real estate investment and finance. A North Dakota State University alumnus with a degree in finance, Scott has built a robust career through his strategic approach to market analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management. He is adept at identifying and executing high-yield investment opportunities, consistently driving asset value and growth.
Scott has led successful multi-family projects such as The Plains Apartments in Watertown, SD; Farmstead Apartments in Billings, MT; and 10Bedrock Apartments in Rapid City, SD. His skill set includes market research, site selection, financial modeling, and resident-focused design, ensuring long-term success and value creation for the investment.
